I Know HOW to check the ATF level in my Lexus 2009 IS350. I just need to know the temperature range I need to check it at. For example on my 2005 LS430 the range is between 115-130 F.

I'm tired of googling and reading meaningless posts. I decided to come to you all.

As long as it's warm like after driving a few miles, you should be OK

This is a little more complicated as there is no stick. Since ATF expands as it heats up and your level is checked through an overflow tube there is a temp window you must be in.

The bulletin only goes up to 2008, but I think all of the Is350s in that generation are the same. It should be 102-120F. I highly recommend filling and checking at about 102 than at the later end of that range.

In my experience the fluid is usually well over 102f after any amount of driving, and the only way to get the ATF temperate around 100f is to let the car sit overnight.

Sorry- but this is very very bad advice.

Amen!

Thank you!

The fluid check temp is between 104-113 for the toyota/lexus. The WS fluid expands so it is critical to check the overflow at this range. if you jumper the 4 and 13 pins on the OBD and go through the procedure the D light on the cluster will let you know when you are in the range by holding steady.when it blinks you are above the 113. I have done 2 of these flushes on my lexus gs350 and gx470

I sure wish I knew a cheat like this for my sisters Cruze. It's an overflow check spec'd at 185 degrees. I just stick an infrared thermometer in the top fill plug. That's the best I can do. Luckily 185 is pretty f'n hot and I go for a nice long stop and go drive before doing it.
