the GTO is a compact?

wrx/sti/evo or wait for the next Nissan Silvia or rwd Toyota Corolla

I love my little Cavalier. It may be lacking a bit on power (2.2 engine with an automatic transmission will do that), but in terms of looks, there are few other things out there that beat it. The extra .4 liters of displacement give it more torque than the Corolla I used to drive, and it's quite noticeable. With just front and rear strut bars, it handles much better than any other "cheap" car I've driven, though the Corolla always felt like a boat.

EDIT: Get a Cobalt. Or the new Focus.

The Cobalt SS with the supercharged Ecotec is discontinued, but I believe it is rumored that the Pontiac Solstice's turbocharged Ecotec will be taking its place. Makes me think even less of the Solstice, the same way I feel about the Audi TT (GTI's 2.0T FSI).

I've read a lot of reviews on many different sport compacts, since it is an area that attracts my interest. Have never read an (overall) good review of the Cobalt, in any trim.

My car has plenty of [censored] reviews, but I've never had a problem with it. My old Corolla had almost all good reviews, and was a total POS. I don't put much faith in them anymore.
