Neither. Dielectric grease around the plastic to lead terminal, and some on the top of the cable to terminal gap after installed/torqued. Never had a leaky battery with that.

Door latch and window mechanisms.
I've even had to do seat tracks.

Zerk fittings for my front ends

Jiffy lube likes to grease the bleeder screws on the calipers!

Anything that has a zerk gets grease. I am slowly dwindling my stock down to carry one type of grease. When ripping vehicles apart, I usually add a touch of grease or if handy, antiseize to the bolts and mating surfaces. Makes future repairs somewhat easier.
