Getting a 1985 motorhome with a 454 that has been sitting for ten years,I want to get it running by June and take it to Oklahoma.Do I flush it and with what flush,or just change the oil
and with what oil Dino,Synthetic,or a blend.

Sorry For Long First Post

Welcome, honestly I would pull the valve covers and see what condition the motor is in. I would drain every fluid in the vehicle and run for a couple hundred miles then drain and refill again. This includes, brake fluid, coolant, engine oil, transmission fluid, diff fluid, power steering fluid. Good luck and feel free to ask questions.

I agree with Barkleymut... flush all oil and fluids and dump some fresh gasoline. Drive it for a couple hundred miles and replace all fluids and oils again.

that also means all new tires and maybe brake lines and vacuum lines too. depends if it sat inside or out.

i would not even try to start the motor without putting a little lube (mmo , seafoam , wd-40) in each cylinder with a little fogging oil on top, soaking them overnight and cranking it with the ignition disconnected and plugs out to break it loose without scoring a cylinder.
fresh dino oil like delo for 100-200 miles.
flush all fluids too.
454's are very robust and should be fine with a little caution

All good suggestions. A MMO piston soak certainly won't hurt. Remove the plugs fill the cylinders with MMO let it sit a few hours crank the engine and fill again, and let it sit overnight. Following morning crank it again then install the plugs. Cranking the engine over before installing the plugs will get any remaining MMO out so you don't hydro-lock the engine. Run a short Dino OCI with a qt of MMO in the oil.

Follow the steps above re: all fluids.
