What OCI do you recommend?

2002 Chevy 1/2 ton van
5.7L engine
210K miles on it

Decided on Castrol GTX High Mileage 10W-40 with a Wix filter.

What OCI do you guys recommend I use?

5-6000 miles unless it's all stop & go with lots of idle time. If the motor isn't sludged, you can probably double stint the Wix. Keep the oil level topped off.

My bread and butter for all cars. Even my Yukon with 150k on it.

What sort of driving do you do? Highway, city?
All that would help determine a good OCI

Twice a week, no stop-n-go, about 150 miles. Occasional 300-400 mile highway trip.

I think you would know better than anybody.
Take a pull on the dipstick now and then- that should tell you how you're doing.

I would just do the oil and filter once a year and keep a close eye on the oil level.

With only ~6k miles per year on average, and that mostly highway, sounds like you could do an annual change.

Of course making sure with a single UOA is not a bad idea.

I'm planning on doing a used oil analysis first oil change. Right now leaning on a 5K OCI this first time.
