What makes MB 235.0 so special?

Greetings

My 04 AMG E55 specifies for the rear diff MB 235.0 diff oil. It’s an 85W-90 GL5 oil. Does anyone know if there’s anything really special about it? It’s a bit obscure.

I’d like to use Amsoil 75W-90 servere gear oil but amsoil don’t make a 235.0 oil. Or am I better off sticking with the manual.

240k km’s on the clock.
Used for transport, spirited driving and 5ish track days per year.

Also have a geared LSD installed. (M factory I think).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the MB Sheet 235.0 is more robust with respect to oxidation and thermal stability.

The more I read into it, the more I’m lead to believe the MB spec is about fuel saving. That a quality 75w90 GL5 synth is similar in performance and protection.
