What is your shop's bulk or fleet oil?

At the shop dad buys mostly any of the following: O'Reilly conventional 5w30 and 10w30, Advance Auto Parts 5w30 and 10w30, Napa 5w30 and 10w30, AcDelco 5w30 and 10w30, and sometimes, Motorcraft 5w30 and 10w30. The latter two namesakes are only purchased on sale. The O'Reilly and AAP are made by Warren Performance Products(here at least), the Napa is made by Ashland, the AcDelco by Mobil, and the Motorcraft by Phillips 66. All are purchased in 12 quart cases. I usually keep a small supply of Quaker State Conventional for the cars I do personally, but right now that supply consist of Havoline and AcDelco conventional. The truck gets Defy.

When I worked at Tire Kingdom, they used Pennzoil in 2010, and in 2011 they went with Valvoline.

In the area of the city I live in, most independents get Fina oil. I never see any Fina brand oil in stores.

When we needed a special viscosity oil, the service writer would get the auto part store branded oil. Usually we got it from Advance Auto. Some people needed 20w50 for their dying car, and others needed 15w40 for American diesel engines.

Firestone Complete Auto Care purchases oil centrally, so they have a national contract to service all of their 2000+ shops. They buy Kendall in bulk. The "lowest" grade offered is semi-Syn with titanium.

Kendall doesn't do much retail marketing because they go after the shops. Pretty good oil AFAIK.

I worked fleet maintenance and took care of our leased and rented equipment and service contract on customers Equipment and vehicles. The owners sold quality and used Chevron lubes in quarts or gallons, OEM or name brand parts and filters.

The local Firestone shop just told me that corporate is switching to Pennzoil soon. Must be a big loss for Kendall.

Hello,

I operate my own full service department for the benefit of my service trucks, wreckers and company cars. I purchase by the drum Mag1 15W40 All Fleet for the diesels and stock 5w20, 5w30 & 10w30 Mag1 full synthetic. I also stock Mag1 10w40 semi-synthetic high milage.

We have bulk Pennzoil 5W20, 5W30, and 10W30 for most vehicles, and rotella 15W40 for the diesels. Synthetic is usually Mob1 or Castrol.

It wasn't my decision. If I had my way, we would be following the OEM recommendation based on the operating condition, regardless of the oil type.

Thanks folks, stopped by a Mighty oil change place and they use Valvoline conventional and MIGHTY filters(guessing they are purolators. May cut one open as found old one at work
