What is your favorite GL-4?

Got a new Yamaha Grizzly 700 ATV today and was looking at the owners manual. Along with an oil and filter change at 20 hours it calls for a fluid change for the Final Gear and Differential Gear.

They are calling for SAE 80 API GL-4 Hypoid Gear Oil.

Since I plan on keeping this a long time I would like to use a high end lube. So what are your favorite GL-4 oils out there these days? Any recommendations?

GL-4 was somewhat difficult for me to locate locally. This tipped me on the scale to Amsoil. I am a preferred customer and got it at dealer cost. It's a lot easier being able to order online instead of calling all over town.

does it say not to use gl-5 in the final drive? or is it a combined transmission/final drive type of thing?

Motul Gear 300. It's a 75w90 with an ultra-high VI of 222 (on the thin-side of 75w90 though). GL-4 & GL-5. About $16/L.

Only other GL-4 fluid I've seen come close is Castrol TAF-X which you can only get at VW/Audi dealers for like $30/L.

At this time I can't find anything that says I can't use a GL-5 but I'll have to look into that further.

GL5 would make more sense for a 90 deg final drive.
If a transmission is involved, or there are only helical final drive gears, than the GL4 would be OK.
