What is your EDC Pistol?

My decision tree looks like this:

1. Reliability. For me at least, any self defense weapon absolutely has to have outstanding proven reliability.
2. Accuracy. Self explanatory.
3. Shootability. Does it fit well in my hands? Do I like the trigger? Where do my fingers rest, to reach the magazine release? Can I handle it well?
4. Concealability. My current carry pistol is an HK VP9SK. I would say it is 95% concealed when i appendix carry, but the butt reads through just a tad. I'm considering picking up the new VP9CC, which is similarly sized to the P365 @astro showed, above.

You can't go wrong with an HK, or any recently designed pistol from one of the major manufacturers. It really boils down to the traits the are important to the person carrying it. You guys have clearly put thought into why you carry what you do. Many people don't.

I would like to get wheel gun for EDC. The ones I own are far to large for EDC unless I open carry them like I do for hunting. I would like something classy that takes me back to the 1980's!

If you’ve never spent much time with one, most completely concealable revolvers are pretty brutal. I like cold weather because I can carry a 686 OWB and maintain my privacy with just a jac-shirt.

My revolvers are all large bore hunting models so even the magnums are pretty heavy on the barrel length and size. I am 6'1" and built like an NFL lineman so concealing is not a problem as a big boy. I have just gotten spoiled by the light weight plastic 9mm's over the years that just disappear weight wise.

So most of my experince is with very large revolvers some even scoped. For a large guy though my hands are not that big and my fingers are not that long. My hands are thick and so are my fingers. It is a little odd really because I have size 13 feet but my hands are not much bigger than your aver 5'8" 150lbs. man just much much thicker.

I was thinking maybe a 357 Mag loaded with 38SPL with a 2" barrel and custom made grips.

In my youth I had jobs that required me to keep a pistol or rifle handy sometimes open but most times concealed. In my civilian life though I have never ran into a situation where I had to actual use my side arm. I am now to that point in life where I can not run or jump and I am not going to be confrontational. I know the difference between shooting to retreat and shooting to resolve a situation and I am definetly focused on retreat. So the idea of needing 15+ rounds and 4 or more reloads or needing a "man stopper" are not part of my EDC mode of operation. I find myself in shorts and t-shirt more often than I do blue jeans or a suit.

Now during the Winter all bets are off because I live in the rust belt where winters are long and cold and you dress heavy! By the time I am in my old Carhart I could easily cary an AR Pistol under the coat and no one would know!
