What is this?

I was leaving the hospital and on the street in front of our parking lot, i saw 2 of these, i picked them up. They were standing nail up. I don't know if they were too tall to damage a tire ( be crushed down before puncturing?). Is this a construction item that fell off a truck? I have never seen them before.

The base is 2x2 inches and might be zinc, the nail is 2 1/2 inches long.

Please excuse my paranoia but when I see stuff like that I assume some onerous dippy-doo threw them done purposefully.

I have no less faith or fear in mankind than the next person. It's just that a little cowardly, hurtful, creepy behavior goes a long way.

Applying the "Golden Rule" of doing unto others etc. can really help the world.

Probably just some contractor that is a slob.

Hospital uses those to patch up head injuries when the brain is falling out. I have a couple of them
