What is the best fitting filter wrench for FL500s?

I have owned a few different filter wrenches but have found that a lot of them don't fit the FL500S too great. Has anyone used a filter wrench that is awesome on these filters?

This is for the updated (within the past couple years) FL500S with about 14-15 flutes, not the small fluted design.

I have one similar to this....it is AWESOME, got mine from Home Depot I think. I do remember it was $10

FLo Tool 10602, also know as Hopkins 10602 Super Graphite #2. I like it because it can grab the end of the filter when it is in the recess of a Chevy LS engine. The
FL500S cross references to a Fram 10575. The listing on the FLo Tool #2 does not specifically list the FL500S bit it fits. You use a ratchet and 3/8 “ drive extension. This one seems to have the 15 flutes. I saw some on eBay.

Just finished changing the oil in my Edge. Removed a Motorcraft 500s and replaced it with another one. Since I was the person that did the previous oil change I knew it would come off w/o a wrench. Replaced the Havoline 5W-20 with the same. Six quarts in a box. Put the used oil back into the box. Best thing ever invented.

Often, you dont have side clearance necessary for a normal band wrench.. and an endcap wrench can be very useful.
I have a band wrench and currently it wont fit any of the 4 vehicles I change the oil on.

My Jeep has a vertical oil filter that is nestled into a "cutout" of the oil pan so there is no getting anything on it.
The oil filter tool I pictured above is very good but I dont have enough space around the sides of the oil filter on the jeep for it to work.
I use a strap wrench with a socket and can only get about 1/4 turn on it before I have to reset.. a cap wrench would be an ideal alternative but I already have 5 and none fit my current filter(s).

On the hemi it sticks out on top of the axle with all kinds of fun stuff around it.. I usually just Hercules it (by hand) and slip a gallon ziplock over it to catch the mess once its loose enough.

also have the filter pliers that look like a giant set of pliers sized for oil filters.

I find the filter cap to be the best when it works but it wont fit due to location on some filters.. and of course it has to fit the oil filter so you might need a bucketful.

So whats the point of this.. not sure.. but sometimes its worth it to buy the right tool for every vehicle as a non pro and other times find a nice tool that works on many.

Add a portion of chain to that.
Last time I pierced a locked-on filter, it got MeSSY.
A section of chain long enough to wrap the filter & pass through the screwdriver is 240% tidier.
Of course if there's no clearance for chain, stab away!

Do yourself a favour and throw out the filter wrenches that don’t fit your present filters and buy one that fits. It’s called baggage.

Hah, but then I have to buy new ones when buddy is over etc. I do need to prune some old tools out but its hard!.
