What is so "dated" about my interior?

It doesn't have the wiz bang designs of some other newer trucks, but so what? I think the Frontier is a handsome looking truck and it should last you a long time. You will drive past the broken down $70,000 luxo truck on the side of the road smiling all the way.

I don't like how so many put so much emphasis on material things. I don't understand people who NEED to trade in their vehicles every 3-5 years. I have a guy I work with who really wants a new car, though his current ride serves him well. Only 35K or so miles on it, and it looks just fine. He still owes on it, but really wants to trade up. It's all about impressions with some people. If others are judging you by what car you drive then they have other issues. Likewise if you are spending thousands every couple years just to keep a new car in your garage to impress overs, you have issues as well. Rant over.

Nice ride! Hope it lasts you for years to come.

Same thing I was when I bought the '18 Titan I guess.

Right? Also, no 10 speed transmission, no turbocharged / hybrid engine, no full LED lighting, and no 100% soft touch materials everywhere! The horror!

I have a CD player and a small 1x3 display in my truck that shows the station and basic tonal details. I don't give a poo if anyone thinks its interior is dated. It is simple and very reliable in all aspects and that is all I care about.

You won't pass the fictional new truck broken down the road. The fronter has a dated interior it doesn't mean newer trucks are less reliable. The worse part is if Nissan spent about $50 more per unit on interiors they would be top of the class for midsize trucks it really does not take a lot of money to improve interiors when you manufacturer at the scale Nissan does.

People who want the most current and stylish are the ones expending their money at a faster rate trading up every two or three yrs, or leasing (renting). Not counting contractors and business owners who depreciate work vehicles on a tax schedule and replace that way. Others who get a vehicle for the long haul aren't as concerned with fashion trends. Wife and I, we go about ten yrs on a vehicle on average. We just replaced her 2008 RAV4 and my 2009 Forester.

Apparently you should have bought a Nissan so you could go 20 years in between on average, that way you wouldn't be giving anything up by having a 2005 model vs. a 2019 model, apparently, ROFL! Same engine. Same interior.

Buster,

I like those Weather Tech floor liners. Where did you get them? Also, I like the "outdated" interior of our Frontier. It serves its purpose. I don't live in it so luxury is not needed. It reliably gets me from point A to point B which is what I expect any of my vehicles to do.

It's a 2019 Frontier Pro4X, brand new.

Ummm...this is a 2005...so if you're not BSing me, then its dated as [censored], because it hasnt improved in nearly a decade and a half.

LOL! Sure hasn't changed much. I posted this in a joking manner. I'm not complaining. The truck drives fantastic, much better than I had ever expected.

It simply looks like an interior from the early-mid 00's. Not that there's anything wrong with interiors from that era; it was simply the style of the time. If I showed you a picture of the interior of a '60s car, you would probably be able to tell that it's from a '60s car, even if you don't recognize the specific car. It doesn't mean the interior is ugly or bad, it just means you can tell which era it's from based on the styling, materials, and features it has. The truck is no different.

The white face gauges would bother me; I think the trans shifter makes it look dated. But what I am to say, my daily driver fell out of the 90's (1999 Camry) and I do like the simplicity of that era.

Looks good though, and I do like the mats.

Actually, more like introduced in 2004 as a 2005 model.

As I said, it IS dated. I'm aware of that, but stylistically what makes it so dated looking? The fact that it doesn't have a 20 speed transmission? Mechanically, yes.

That it's dark gray everywhere, like my '84 Ford Escort?

I long ago gave up trying to figure what motivates car review magazines and their reviewers, other than advertising. Every Japanese, Swedish, and German vehicle is automatically better than anything USA, yeah, yeah, I get it.

If I had to replace my TJ the only vehicles I'd consider would be a JL or a Frontier PRO-4X
