I found the same thing using the Amsoil.

The factory fill was better than the Mobil 1 gear oil I used. Then I put in the Amsoil and WOW, what a difference.

I'll prob go 100k on the Amsoil and I may try the Redline and report back.

It was interesting to see how the different brands of the same fluid/weight perform in such a simple transmission.

My 1986 Jetta received its FIRST and only transmission change @ 292k. It was still shifting perfectly when I changed it (felt bad for it) and I just put in some regular fluid.

It's still shifting fine around 350k...

Wish I knew what VW put in the transmission back then..

Amsoil's mtf was simply remarkable in my CRV. It was almost too smooth

I'm hoping to get the same results with my Subaru 5mt, but I hear they are a picky beast with respect to fluid.

The Gear300 in there now is great so there's no reason to change I suppose. I guess the smooth shifting characteristics of the Honda manual tranny with amsoil really stuck in my head

Disapointed in Mobil 1 gear lube

It won't be long before the usual suspects come along to tell you how stupid you are and how Mobil 1 of any flavor is the elixir of the gods.
