....... and his inactivity here is involuntary or voluntary? I'm sure you asked.

I'll let the moderators comment on this matter.

It's just not in his nature.

You are kidding right?

Buster was always pushing the limit. Nothing nasty, just what we did back in the day. Buster is good at it, maybe not Gary Allan quality, but his subjects walk that line, so to speak.

Agree 100%

For those of us on BITOG since the beginning, this forum is only a shadow of its former self. Many of the best members like Johnny and Terry Dyson have moved on.

Agree as well. Buster was a good guy but the comments some are making that he was Saint like are kind of funny. The guy loved to push buttons.

I agree that he did not always walk a straight line, but I always enjoyed reading his postings. Overall, I thought his contributions were a welcome addition to the board.

His history goes back 10+ years and he was one of the most prolific posters on the board with approximately 30k postings.

Yessir! I've always enjoyed my talks with buster, even if we weren't in agreement on something. An intelligent guy who liked to incite a bit of controversy to get the ball rolling on a topic

Maybe all of you are correct, since he probably frequented some of the same forums which all of you were also on a lot of the time, and which I NEVER go on.

For the ones I do frequent, I have never noticed any outright belligerence, or nastiness, regardless of the topic, but I guess he did like "stirring the pot" at times.

Shame to hear Buster is not posting. I liked what he had to say.

In my view he challenged some, so what, who hasn't here ?

With the wealth of knowledge he had on this forum ie over 10 years I felt he did add value.

Will he return ? "The Critic" can you please provide an update ?

Kinda figured that. I get the feeling he'll be back though. It's refreshing to get some "border line" threads in here to shake things up from the same old posts around here... Being here as I have for a time, I can see why people get banned sometimes....as some here can really drive ya nuts! I must be nicer than I thought, since I've not been banned yet...

Though on topic here, I think it's about time for a "war", Versus, or some type of section for this site. Why? Well, because the politics/strong opinions are not going away, and really need a topic area of it's own. An area were people can speak their mind (respectively, or course), and get it out. It might help Helen and the mods by simply keeping those "pushing the limit threads" their own home, and out of other sections. might help keep the troll population down too...I also think it might inject some new life into the forums, in a positive way.

While I understand why it is not wanted, at this point is is only avoiding the greater issue...as even oil itself is starting to turn into politics....and an outlet is needed. At least something to consider.....

Also, mark it "enter at your own risk", to keep the butthurt population down a bit. I've seen it done with success in other sites....heck, I'll even offer to help mod it at this point! I just want to keep things growing and going....we have a bunch of great members here...so I figure I would throw this out there....

I've wondered about Buster.
Buster did like to start certain topics that would bring multi-page arguments, like the one regarding Amsoil's lack of API licensing for it's premium oils.
He was never nasty or disrespectful in his posts, though, unless he was seriously baited by someone else.
I've also wondered about Bill in Utah.
Where's he been?
