What do you do with your old/used coolant?

My local water utility told me that treatment center process would remove the toxins so, if I desired, I could dump it down one of my sink drains. The last time I had enough coolant to actually bottle I did take it to my City's monthly household hazardous waste disposal event. This is a good reason not to change coolant more often than needed - the waste disposal issue. You can take used oil to a lot of places locally, but not other fluids.

We have a collection location that is maybe 1/2 mile from me. So I take it there. Id imagine that our sewer system would accept it. If I had a septic, id never flush it, and Id never dump it on the ground, though I assume many do.

Town DPW has collection tanks for coolant and oil. Dumping oil, coolant or anything else into the environment is very destructive. Nobody should do it. It's totally wrong, immoral, lazy and selfish.
