The subjects are:

An oil burning 1990 Plymouth Voyager with about 150k and a MitsuChrysler 3.0
A 1996 Toyota Camry LE with sludge in it's 5S-FE. About 112k miles.
A 1986 Volvo 245 that has put 270k miles behind it and will put quite a few more behind it when I finally find a not-leaking radiator. Here I'm just hoping to clean things out, lose varnish, run better etc.

I'm planning to just buy a case and change them all on the same day. Whats the recommended AutoRX cheapie oil? Chevron Supreme? Havoline? SuperTech? If theres an oil out there that sounds like a good one to use in these particulat apps, I'm all ears.

For your '86 Volvo 245, have NAPA order you a Modine 2R2144 radiator. This is an all metal unit and slips right in to replace the plastic stock radiator. Last one I bought was not too expensive; around $120 as I recall. I have these rads in two 240s and a 740 turbo.

I have been using Exxon Superflo in the gallon jugs for Auto RX cleaning and rinsing. You can also use a Motorcraft FL-1A filter on the 245 if oversize sounds like a good idea for Auto RX'ing

I am using the Havoline dino right now for the ARX on our 3 cars and it is great oil. I thought about using Supertech dino (I think it is made by Exxon in our area), but I figured the Havoline was worth the extra $2 (it runs about $8 at Walmart) per 5 quart jug. It get's very favorable reviews on this forum, and I can tell you just a few days into the change all of my cars seem to like it very well. They are all running very quietly and smoothly. I posted in another thread that it has made a dino believer out of an old synthetic guy, and I may continue to use it after the ARX treatments since I run short OCI's.

I agree with Mike. I am oversizing the filters on all 3 cars through the whole cycle to clean out as much crud as possible. When the clean/rinse are both done, I plan to run a PureOne for at least the next 2 OCI's to finish it off.

Watch Pep Boys and advanced auto if you have them around. They will have $0.49 Shell oil, perfect for an Auto-RX treatment. I used some older Valvoline/Mobil 5000 mix I had laying around.
Sad, out of about 100 qts of oil that I have, only 8.5 qts of it was regular dino...

After a little under 30 days on visiting BITOG, I have 100+ quarts of oil in my stash as well, and no dino, so I had to buy more to start cleaning my engines!

As above, whatever cheap 5/10w30 SL or SM dino oil you can find. You might find Havoline/Chevron Sureme pretty cheap, but those seem to be excellent dino oils. Yesterday I began an Auto-Rx treatment in my car, using Formula Shell 5w30 SL.

Blupupher, have you actually seen those $.49/qt deals here in Texas?

Recently Adv Auto had a rebate deal on Formula Shell, but after tax & postage it still came out to within one cent of the price when it was on sale at Walgreens at $1.29/qt plus tax.

Havoline was the cheapest I found in cases. AutoZone was out of Superflo :\

Revalation #1: If a vehicle burns oil, the smoke coming out of the tailpipe will reek about 500x more when AutoRX is in the car.

Interestingly, the Camry has always had a slight tick from the engine. It only took a few miles of Havoline and AutoRX to quiet things down :-o

I ordered a new Modine radiator today too. w00t.
