Not looking to start a war on what filter is BEST. I just would like to know what brand everyone uses for their own vehicles as I am now changing oil on my brand new corvette and a 22 diesel Tahoe. What brands do you guys like consistently?
The MAVIS down the road from me uses CHAMP filters. I used MAVIS with my fleet vehicle (we were not allowed to change the oil on a company vehicle, which I wouldn't have anyway.) The oil they were directed to use was Valvoline Maxlife 5W-20. Regardless of mileage. So, my last 2 fleet vehicles got nothing but that and CHAMP filters since new. Never had an oil related issue with either vehicle. Though the engine blew on the Fusion at 70K. Failure not oil related though.Just about anything. Right now Mobil1 in my wife's X3, Microgard in my 535d, Microgard Select in my son's Jeep, and whatever cheapo filter Mavis used when my daughter took her Edge to them last month for reasons I can't explain (I've always changed oil for her and never messed anything up).
Make sure those filters are tight on cage. Many non OE or OEM filters don’t have good fit on cage on BMW’s and can throw VANOS or oil pressure code.Just about anything.
