Was just wondering what brand oil filters others are using and having good results on their Hyundai/Kia besides OEM filters?

My buddy has a 14 1.8 Forte and he just did Pennzoil Platinum PurePlus 5w20 and a Wix 51334. It is a great combo!

Same filter is specced for both engines....

Any recognizable brand name will do a fine job.

If you tend towards the "must have the most expensive to assure it will not crash and die", then pick your favorite. But that won't matter to wear.

Except for the PureOLeaker....

Why not use the hyundai mobis oil filters since they are pretty nice put together and are fairly priced ?

I have had good luck using Mahle, Mann and Bosch WS filters on both 2.0 and 2.4 engines. There have been reported issues in the past with Wix.

Note:
1. Mann and Bosch WS filters are the same filter.
2. If you shop around you can get OEM filters for about the same price as above.

If close by a dealer - I would buy OEM ...very nice , rugged oil filter at a fair price ($6.50) . Otherwise : Wix , NAPA Gold , O'Reilly Micro Guard or Pure One.

My 2010 Hyundai 2.4l had the Napa ProSelect filter on when I bought it (used), & no unusual start up noise. Since my first DIY oil/filter change, I been using the OEM filters.
I been cutting the filters open (ProSelect and all OEMs) and each was fine. The OEMs are well built and still affordable, so I'll continue using them as its still under warranty and I have a stash of them.

I've used nothing but Wix made Napa Golds in our KIA since we bought it, no issues whatsoever. They are cartridge filters however, no experience with any spin ons.

That's what I paid as well. Plus it shows in thier system that at least your buying oil change filters. I always kept the receipts and wrote down mileage and brand of oil used. Stick them in the glove box and worry free.

You can buy the OEM filter's in bulk online for ~$4.50 each

As Hyundai/Kia products can be fickle about that filter, I'd use the OEM until the aftermarket responds with a specific application

I call B-S! Please list multiple links to these problems with proof. There have been problems with others, but never heard of any problems with Wix recently.
