Got some shelves made in my garage to organize the mess. Re-used some left over brackets and 2x2s I had left over from another project.

Broke down all the Christmas boxes for recycling. Replaced the wiper blades on my truck. Boxed up the Christmas wreath until next Christmas. Took the dogs outside to run. Realized that I’m just 2 weeks past my hernia surgery….

Currently trying to rearrange and reorganize the bathroom cabinet as the bottom shelf has turned into a nightmare because other members of the family can’t keep it organized and it’s the only one they can reach. So I’m going to make everything nice and neat again because it’s killing me about how disorganized it is. I have way too much soap and deodorant so the deodorant is all kept in my bedroom and the soap is all stuffed in the cabinet lol. I’m one where if I find something on sale it comes with me regardless of what it is lol. I don’t have it organized in any certain way just had to make it look nice and presentable and I put my favorite bar soaps in the front for easy access and the others in the back the other two shelf’s above it are also filled with just soap. I gave the other members their side of the bottom shelf too because they only need a small section.

I was wondering when one of these threads would pop up! 😁

I installed a Panasonic bathroom fan a while back and it has always been "meh". I attributed it to improper venting as I just vented it to the gable vent. A bunch of people said it was OK. Nah, no, don't do it! After realizing the fan did nothing on last nights shower I realized it was time to do it right.

I drained about a gallon of water out of the flex duct

Whoops...

Drilled a hole in the side of the house and stuck a hooded vent through the side. I know a lot of people use the louvered, but this side of the house gets all the wind and I wanted to shield it somewhat.

I will order some insulated flex duct and hopefully will be done with this mess!

I'm a little lost on what that downspout is doing.

I also converted, about a month ago, one of the walk in closets to an office as there is no good space for it in my current house and the second closet wasn't needed. I'm not sure why it was even built.

I didn't take a before pic, but it looked almost like this one.

This is how it turned out. My wife did the decor, I built the thing.
At first I thought lack of any windows and natural sunlight will bother me, but without it, I noticed my eyes didn't tire as much. Before I built it, I had my desk set up in our bedroom, with four big windows and my eyes were super tired at the end of the day. I didn't have direct sunlight on my screen either. I think the brightness and high contrast made it hard to focus on the screen.

I just put two 5000k LED lights in the ceiling and it's nice and bright in there, but not tiring on my eyes.

Did the yearly flush on the Rinnai tankless water heater. Ran vinegar for a hour then pumped it over to the washer. Going to let it set over night in there. Haven’t seen anything in the screen for years.

Weeded and edged around the house put down weed and bug killer. Gave the wife's car a wash. Watching moms dog left me a present spent the evening spot cleaning the bedroom rug with the portable carpet upholstery machine

Today's unpleasant surprise, our sump pump seized up. Went downstairs and smelled something funny in the basement, like the cat had piddled on the carpet. Well, she is 20 years old and spends a lot of time sleeping on the armchair down there, maybe she didn't make it to the litter box. Nope, searching around the smell seemed to be coming from the sump pump closet. Knelt down, and the carpet over the sump pump cover is quite warm. Uh oh. Rolled back the carpet, and the water in the sump is steaming! Yep, that's what I'm smelling. Unplug and replug the pump, but it's not going.

5 shop vac loads of water later, I see the pump is sitting in a layer of mud. Got the mud and water vacuumed up and got pump out. Just a few screws to get the pump housing open, and there's mud packed in between the impeller and the housing. Wash out the mud, and turn the impeller by hand, and it's freed up. Plugged in the motor, still runs fine. Back together, and after putting a few buckets of water in the sump, it's back in business.

Glad I don't have a basement to deal with sump pumps and their problems. It looks very old and I would have replaced it instead of fixing it. 10-12 years and it's out of there for me.

Adding Amzoil Dominator Coolant Boost to both cars, dropped coolant cap down into engine. Impatient me, I jam my hand down there. ~i Cant get it out! Panic! I'm by myself! Sooo, I pulled it out despite the pain.

Did get the cap.
After cleaned up, not so bad, less pain.

I just got off my roof checking for wind damage from yesterdays wind storm. Winds gusted in my area at 70-80 mph. No damage and I oiled my attic ventillator motor while I was up there.

We lost many o shingles yesterday. Thankfully the roof guy was able to come out and fix it first thing this AM. (He installed it last fall, but didn’t get done until Dec 23.)

Porta potties blew over at work. A semi tipped over a few miles from the house. Our Starlink blew over twice. The wind was absolutely terrible yesterday.
