Don't know why not. Keep all your receipts to prove you did the maintenance and you're OK on the warranty.

What's GM going to say? "You didn't use 5w30"? You tell them, "No, I didn't. I used something better, and here are the receipts to prove it!" It's up to them to prove a failure was caused by your motor oil and maintenance regimen.

Short of maybe Amsoil SSO, I think GC is the best xW-30 oil money can buy. That's why I use it. But use whatever you feel comfortable with, as long as you use something good it will be OK for warranty coverage.

Valvoline SP or NAPA syn here, but my truck has run Valvoline products all its life

Running 5w30 Valvoline SP right now. Have used Durablend & Maxlife. All seem to fine.

Amsoil SSO 0w30 appears to meet GM 6094M spec... Which means I can use it per the manual.

Well I checked the manual. I can use 5w30 that meets GM 6094M spec and it says do not use any other oil such as 10w40 or 20w50, which I thought is weird. It also said in cold weather that is -20 or below use syn 5w30 or 0w30.

So... Can I use 0w30 safely all year? This is a Saab 9-7x 5.3i.
