Just got these new Continental tires, and wife was complaining about how ugly the white "tick" marks by the rim were, from the get-go. I told her not to worry, that they're probably just chalk marks and will come right off. Well, they don't come off very well. She's the one that washes the car and she's really carping about how the marks are leaving white drip marks on the wheels. I tried rubbing the marks off and they do get less visible with much rubbing, but why are they there in the first place? The photos I've attached are post-car wash, post-rubbing off. I personally don't care about how they look, but I've gotta try to keep the better half happy. Thx for any input!
