The Pilot rear hatch Honda emblem broke off from the tabs. I thought about glueing it back onto the tabs and some kind of double sticky tape to adhere to the paint. What kind of tape should I use?

I would simply go to your local Auto Zone, Advance etc as you can buy a small roll of dbl sided tape to glue that back on. Don't know about specific brands but 3M has been around in that field a long time. Many folks like the look without any emblems, I do, I would remove "de-badge" all of them if it was my car...

I would but on the logo it snap into exposed holes on the hatch. Thanks for the reply.

This is what the body shops use for attaching moldings and emblems: It is <$10 at WalMart.

I used gorilla tape two-sided tape ..used it on two emblems that came off of my 99 accord that was 3-4 years ago and still holding up good I think I got the stuff at ace hardware

Food for thought. In the used car market missing badges is an indication of crash damage with a budget repair.
I had a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country, and the tailgate started rusting through while still under warranty. Contacted the dealer, they arranged replacement of the tailgate through a local body shop. Chrysler shipped a new tailgate for the body shop to use.

However, Chrysler would NOT supply a new "Town and Country" badge for the tailgate. They told the body shop that they would have to remove, reuse, and reattach each one of the 14 individual letters from the old tailgate, and to get the spacing and alignment correct, and make it look right.

I told the body shop to screw it. If Chrysler couldn't provide a new one, then just leave it off.

So.... it can also indicate repaired rust damage with a cheap manufacturer paying the bill.

VHB tape is stronger than rivets, that being said, I agree with @Arc , some light duty sealant would fit the bill and not be permanent. VHB tape is not permanent but will be very hard to remove without damage
