Price is right. I suspect under all the deep ugliness and decryptedness might be strong bones, something to gut and rebuild to ones liking.

Obviously a laundry list of questions to make something like this work. Number one question would be how much red tape to perform a rebuild. Follow up is there a "Home Depot" like store selling building materials at discount prices or does one in this part of Japan have to pay full retail for everything.

How are the schools?
I have no idea, but I suspect outstanding.

Here is a video on Japanese elementary school lunches (wow how clean the food prep/kitchen areas are):

I have no idea, but I suspect outstanding. Japanese schools from elementary through high school prohibit calculators, so the student shave to use their brains to learn multiplication.

Its considered apartment size in the USA. It looks extremely close to the other buildings in one of the pics but not the others.

Based on the price, I’m thinking you are just buying the leasehold rights and this is not a fee simple purchase like most here are accustomed to. You are basically buying the building but you do not own the land. You pay rent to the landowner.
