Well, I figured it out trying to program it with the latest GM software kill the PCM and the PCM replaced both and reprogrammed and all is back to normal….
It's completely rust free and looks new underneath which is about unheard of, it also has only 110k on it. But to answer your question I love these little cars and plan on keeping this one indefinitely. It doesn't get driven in the rain or snow etc.
I bought one in 2003: a 95 with 116,000 miles on it, drove it for a few years, gave it to my brother who is still driving it with well over 200,000 miles.
Last summer he took out the carpet and seats and we laid down sound deadening and new carpet, he's that crazy about it. And it's been at least 17 years since he's had it.
That SL1 was so solid at that mileage that when my freshly paid off 99 Cavalier was destroyed in a rear ender, I stayed with Saturn and bought a new 05 ION which I still have. I might have purchased a Cobalt, it's platform mate, but all the Chevy dealer was stocking were a handful of loaded examples in white black or silver. Dozens of trucks and SUVs though.
Anything happens to the 05, I'll look for another one.
