Weatherstripping protectant suggestion

Has anyone ever tried this product? It's from a well known chemical products brand so I'm curious.

It caught my eye because silicone sprays are a dime a dozen and a little messy to apply

Isn't that just silicone liquid in a bottle instead of aerosol? I don't think there's anything unique about it other than the high price per oz and a fancy applicator ...
Why not just use the silicone spray stuff, dispense it onto a small sponge or rag, and use it in a similar manner?

I recently came across a product called “ShinEtsu Silicone grease” on amazon. It seems like a product made for Hondas, might even be a Honda part number product. I read the reviews on Amazon and other forums and it seemed like the best product for rubber rejuvenating to keep them from cracking and becoming brittle overtime.


I bought it, and I tried applying it on an old and hard rubber gasket I had laying around in my toolbox. I applied it, and left it to sit for a couple hours. I came back and wiped off the access, and the rubber gasket feels like a brand new soft and pliable gasket...

Silicone spray fell behind shelves and was dead upon discovery.
I poked a hole in the can and dripped the contents into a small jar.
This is what I use to treat weatherstrips.
Seems to work.

It has been my experience that you can't go wrong with a Dupont product.

IME the PTFE (silicone) sprays lead to lots of little squeaks/clicks while driving. The PFPEs (i.e. Krytox) do not make squeak/clicking noises.
