I'll check into it when I get estimates. If I can fit a 50" medium/short gas water heater into the space without too much additional cost for plumbing and routing exhaust, I'd prefer it. Unfortunately, it looks like the blower adds another 10" to the 50" tank. I'm not sure that will fit.Gas power vent can vent upto 150ft through pvc pipe.
although the shortest I found was around 50" tall.
I was interested in those too. I guess the next WH I get, maybe I'll get that before the initial install. When my friend had their 50 gallon electric replaced, they got rid of their stock anode and used one of those electrically powered anodes (similar to what they do on ships at sea). It was only a couple months old, the same plumber came out and installed it for them, no charge (Awesome company). Even then it took a lot of muscle to remove the factory installed anode!! But now they don't have to worry about every replacing it again!
They got this one.. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B6PR9TMF?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_27&th=1
