I just changed the oil today in my 95 Lt1 powered Fleetwood, the oil was dino Napa 10W40 and an Advance Auto Parts sure grip filter, which the ________ that put it on cranked it on so tight it took me half an hour by hand trying to take it off, sore fingers, wrist and hands after that. It must have turned 360 degrees at least twice before it finally started to spin off slowly, the whole time I could feel it just barely turning.
Anyways, the oil had less then 100 miles on it, I drove it around the neighborhood, not topping 30 mph, let it idle a few times. I finaly got it registered, its been at my house sitting a couple months, I started it/drove it about once every 2-3 weeks. I drove it 10 miles today, within the city, it was about 60 degrees, when I popped the hood it wasnt that hot, i ran the A/c to keep from over heating as there is more water then coolant in the radiator.
Long story short, I start draining the oil and it starts coming out milky brown in color, then clears up. Is this normal, the oil was still fresh Im feeling it has moisture on it.
I was concerned there may be coolant in the oil, the reservoir tank is down a little, BUT last week it boiled over in the driveway, thankfully I was there and shut the car off and let the hood open to cool off, there were no tell tales on the dash to say it over heated, no steaming engine or anything, just heard the tank bubbling/boiling and coolant seeping out the overflow tank.
I put Delvac 1300 15W40 and a Pure One Premium blue oil filter on, Im going to do an oil analysis at 1,000 miles or 1,500 miles.
I doubt the oil got up to operating temp, I drove about 15 minutes, top speed 50, and it was cool out, stopped for 15 minutes, and drove again 5 minutes to my final destination to change the oil.
Car has 177k miles, Im just a little worried, thanks.
