Watch dilemma - help choose

I like Seiko, but if they're anything like the ones I had in the 70's, parts are a huge problem. My jeweler used to make semi-annual trips to Japan just for parts. It's probably a lot better now that most movements are not very mechanical.

I've always like the old Tissot watches with the stone case.

I have two Citizen Eco-Drives and I like them very much. However, the band on the Mickey Mouse model pinches and pulls the hair on my arm.

getting a mechanical drive watch is expensive if you want it to be remotely accurate. no point in buying cheap mechanical watch because you WILL lose a matter of minutes every week.

I used to like flash watches.

I am now a Casio G-Shock man. Solar powered, with radio synch to time broadcasting services. Under $100 and they will last you 10 years plus in harrowing conditions.

They are light and comfortable. mechanical watches are thick and heavy, pretty annoying for me. My gshock is the first watch i can sleep with.

I used to fret when i dropped a watch, now I'm like, that was fun!

your other option is to buy a solar powered flashy watch which would prob be more accurate for a given $.

I have owned my Citizen Eco drive watch for a number of years. If I had to guess, it must be around 8-10 years. I've never done anything to it but wear it and set the time when daylight savings comes/goes. I wear it daily.

I think I'd narrow the brand down, then choose the style. When I bought a watch for my wife, I looked at Citizen's website to determine which one I wanted to get her, then found it locally for alot cheaper.

Don't most of them have a +/- adjustment that you can use to bring them closer to actual? I know my Seiko does, and to tell the truth, I should probably get it adjusted since it does lose a few minutes every week.

Went with the Tissot - amazon finally had it direct from them instead of 3rd party seller.
will update when i get it - hope it works out...
