Watch dilemma - help choose

Ok, so I graduated from Pharmacy school, and thinking of a new watch (which I haven't had for some time) as a grad. gift...
I have narrowed down my choices to the following, and have listed some pros and cons as I see them...
The category can be described as dressy with a touch of sportiness.

All these have the pro of having the look I like.
(black dial, semi-sporty/elegant, and strap)

1) Tissot PRC50

Pros:
-Price: well within target range
-size: 37 mm diameter - perfect for small wrist

Cons:
-cannot find an authorized online OR b/m dealer. Amazon sells through 3rd party reseller, who's also not an authorized Tissot dealer.

2) Citizen Calibre 8700 series Eco Drive:

Pros:
-Eco drive, no battery needed (ever)
-Great looks
-Amazon is an authorized dealer, and many authorized other dealers online, too
-Friend has one with metal band, and tested wearing for a whole day, so I know how it feels (felt pretty good, except his was white faced)
-prepetual calendar and quite a bit of functions, but still maintains the dressy, classic look
-great reputation
-probably most bang for the buck

Cons:
-40mm diameter - upper limit for my wrist, BUT see #4 on the pro list - it didn't look big at all, somehow, and felt great.

here are the other variations of it:

white face is cheapest, all black is most $$, the one i like (black face but white dial) is in the middle (at amazon)

3) Jorg Gray 6500

Pros:
-Mr President (whom i do like) wears one, (hehe)
-great looks
-Movement made by same co. that makes citizen movement
-has online authorized dealers

Cons:
-rather unknown brand (but same movement as Citizen)
-Over the size limit at 41 mm (too big ???)
-$25 over my target max. price of 300 bucks



what to do.... ???

Huge error on my part:
the Citizen that I like has a BROWN face and a strap !!! dammit!
Now what do I do? go with the white one ??? (which is cheaper for some reason, but does look great on this vid:

Congrats on your graduation of Pharmacy school.

I tell many people that are thinking about going into this field that they will have to study their [censored] off, unlike other degrees.

IMHO they are all excelent choice! If I'm to choose 1 of them out of your list, I too, would pick the last one.

But then again: with 2 young sons and a mortgage on my shoulders, what am I kidding?

I live on with my poo-boy's mechanical watch for now (Orient 3-star, mo betta than those carappy low end quartz I had all these years).

Very nice looking watch. Would be too big for my wrist, but I like it nonetheless.

I'm not digging the all white Citizen at all. Looks like a toy to me, for some reason.

I do like the JG as well, but gonna be too big...
might have to go with the Tissot, despite no auth dealers...is it a big risk?

the white faced citizen actually looks pretty good in real life, which is the only watch from above that I have seen in real life...

and the Tissot PRC 50 looks better/different in some other pics...the band IS kinda narrow...

Of the ones listed i would get the Tissot...

Check out the Tag Heur line...

why do you like the Tissot? it's the best in terms of size AND price...if only the dealer was an authorized dealer...

Go rolex or go home...

Just realize that any battery-powered watch is not a real watch - might as well buy a timex.

The kinetic and eco drive units are neat though. High tech and low lifecycle cost.

Rolex - can't afford anyway - like I said, i am in for a "decent" watch, not an ultra expensive one - and I think rolex is ugly and bulky (for my tastes)

I know- battery powered are not "real", but right now it's good enough for me.

Get the Citizen. It is a zero maintenance watch. You will be glad you did over the lifetime of the watch. Just make sure you get a stainless steel Eco-Drive case model.

Get something that you will be able to read later in life.

Have you looked @ Seiko? Good selection and authorized dealers on every street corner.

I have had one for years and years.

I don't know anything about watches, but I like the Eco-drive due to lack of battery replacement.

I did look at Seiko - their watches meeting my basic criteria were either too big (> 40mm) or too expensive (> $300)

My $250 eco-drive, SS case, Citizen is a great watch. It has a smaller face which is what it sounds like you are looking for. The perpetual calendar is great.

Spent 15 years looking at Rados got one about 5 years ago. Looks flimsy but is tough as nails . The Tissot will serve you well IMHO
