Watch a pro use a string trimmer

I think our Stihl weed eater would die after being held like that for an extended amount of time. Lol. Notice how he doesnt have the thing at WOT 100% of the time unnecessarily wasting fuel.

This is easier said that done though if one doesn't normally edge their yard.

When I try doing edge-work like that with a string trimmer, it looks like it was done with a pick axe.

Nice, my performance this morning was greatly improved, using the fully inverted technique that he adopted.

I use mine inverted 99% of the time for edging; I rarely use it flat. No full throttle either unless I'm feeding line. The little tank for pre-mix lasts around three or four weekends.

I was told by the guy that does the lawns across the street that the secret is to hold the trimmer so that you're cutting with the tips of the string.

Most of the lawns on our street are shrinking because of the 3"-4" wide margins between the sidewalks and driveways and the lawns. Trimming run amok.

The old guy living at my neighbor's house tries to edge using the trimmer flat with a bit of angle. He ends up scarfing up a 6" margin around the edge of the lawn. FAIL.
