My BIL up in Tacoma installed a 4 post lift for storage and work.
He drove my 68 years back and got the bug. His car is a 62 Fuelie, a full numbers car. Big bucks and years to find parts. It was a basket when he got it. He has 3 Mechanical FI units, they are very temperamental.
I gave him my car to finish installing the rag top and interior. Nuthin like the torque curve of a base 427. It could easily get by with a 3 speed manual. You can't run too much cam because there is not room for a larger manifold.

Oh yeah Mark picked up a nasty roller stroker to install in my car and have some fun while he details the original L36. The clutch is slippin' anyways. And 2nd gear synchro is beat.

It probably costs as much or more to restore a classic as it is to buy a new like vehicle. Cept the classics usually have a story behind them that a new car will not have. Restoring a classic car is a passion.

Don't keep the receipts. I be Mark is $100K into his Fuelie. Not counting his labor.
My car beat me up so bad...

People comment, "Wow, you must have a lot of money!"
You reply, "I used to..." The best advice I ever got was, start with the best car you can.

Did not know you had a brother down in Tacoma.

Love those cars. The old school WA plate is a nice touch..........

The 427. Man.

Legendary American classic sports car. Love that black. My early years were peeking out the car window & always seeing C4's in the late 80's early 90's. Love the C5's though.

nice cars from a different era. People get touchy about museum pieces that don’t get driven, saying they need to be driven, but I disagree. If antiques all get driven into dust, how will future generations be able to admire these time machines?

I guess if you never damage them, or wear out parts, in a decade or two there will be no one left who knows how to repair them?
Some of the cars in the Goodwood revival race grids are "irreplaceable" but if it was all made by hand in 1962, then does replacing some parts of the car now using the same techniques it was made with, make it any different?

I think the economics of such a task would eliminate a vast majority of cars. It would be too expensive and only a handful of cars would be rebuilt for museum use.

Have you toured the Corvette plant in Bowling Green Ky? Definitely worth the trip.

Yep. I am not into trailer queens, but each to his/her own. My cars are driven.
