warranty calls for tool destruction !

Had a Schumacher battery charger that did like 4 batteries at a time go up in smoke. The asked me to destroy it and send pics, Took a 8 pound sledge to it and sent the pics and got a replacement.

Noctua is an Austrian company that designs and manufactures top quality computer fans. When you make a warrant claim they require a picture of the broken fan that’s been made inoperable.

I recall a visit to a GM assembly plant many years ago when I worked for a large supplier. They had a salvage area where damaged and defective parts were disposed of. The person in charge would take a sledgehammer to everything. Told me he didn't want to anyone working there to be tempted and risk getting fired for theft.

Ah had another experience with forced destruction. New alpine ski's minor issues with the tip's I would have been fine with a repair at the local ski shop. No can do, Sir please destroy the ski's. Drill them make hug holes !

They "accepted" my minimal holes. At least the damage is minimal, Those holes got epoxy and they will be fine for spring skiing.

I've never seen a residential GFCI that measured current on the ground conductor . An imbalance between hot and neutral is assumed to be flowing to a ground . ANY ground .
