Walmart's EverStart battery

The problem with Walmart's battery warranty is that if you get a bad one replaced under warranty, during either the free replacement or prorated periods, the replacement battery only has a warranty from the ORIGINAL battery's purchase date. If you are outside of the free replacement period you are probably better-off purchasing a new battery outright rather than taking their measly prorated discount and 1-2 year warranty without ANY free replacement period.

That is standard on just about any pro-rated warranty part. Your initial purchase was not for a lifetime of replacements if the part failed within the warranty period, just that they will replace and make you whole by honoring the warranty period. It is not a reset switch every time you have to warranty a pro rated item.
