I went to Wally World tonight to get an oil filter for my truck and a few other last minute items. I went back to the Automotive section to pick up the typical Motorcraft FL-820s. I wandered around a bit, looking at all of the oils & the orange isle of Fram oil & air filters. I then played with the little computer that tells me what fits my vehicle. After this I went to grab my oil filter. I couldn't believe my eyes. There were no Motorcraft filters to be found. The only two brands availalbe were Fram & SuperTech.

Has anybody else noticed this?

I was in two different WalMarts last weekend (don't ask), and both of them had Motorcraft filters.

I don't know why I always go into the automotive section and look, even if I'm not getting anything for the cars? It's an addiction I guess. I mean, they almost always have the same stuff there, I just like to look

The local Wal-Mart has been out of the FL-820S for at least two weeks.

I think the supply chain managment is either mismanaged, the supply chain is broken, or both.

Or the just-in-time inventory is out of time. Or something.

I truly hope we don't don't go the way of our frostback northern brethren - orange death is not a dignified death.

Last time I was looking at the chicks at walton's emporium of size 72 panties, tropical fish and tracphones, they still had my beloved Motocraft FL-1A's.

I work at wal-mart distribution. I Would occasionaly see a shipment of motorcraft filters. The problem is this, it would come by a ltl/common carrier i.e. roadway, a.b.f., on 1 pallet. The shipping cost are huge on a small shipment. The profit margin is small to boot. Different stores may or may not carry the same filters i.e. tech 2000, motorcraft, fram, based on demand. Its the small number of filters coupled with the cost to replen them at the warehouse that makes it impossible to keep them always in stock and make any profit on them. If the profit margin was the same on filters as it is on video games, they would always have them in stock. Then theres the other problem, the supplier of the video game might not keep up with consumer demand. (bad example)

The Wal-Mart's near me seem to have no problem keeping Motorcraft filters in stock. Now if they could only keep the SuperTech 3387A's that I need for my Malibu in stock....

wow, i hope they keep stocking the 820-s filters and motorcraft oil. If they stopped stocking that stuff, then I would have no reason to ever enter a walmart. I only go there a few times a year anyways to buy motorcraft stuff anyways.

I hope everybody's right. I couldn't imagine that they completely sold out of Motorcraft filters. One shelf was empty and the shelf above it had some bungy straps. Normally these shelves would be full of Motorcraft filters.

I have no trouble getting the FL-820S or the big 1995 for the diesel at my Wally's. Advance Auto has also started to carry Motorcraft oil and just added the filter line recently. If some Wally's get slack maybe check out Advance.

The Walmart near me is "frequently" out of Motorcraft filters unfortunately. Luckily there is an Advance Auto just down the street from them and they carry some popular size Motorcraft oil filters. They are about $1 more than Walmart. But on the bright side they are still cheaper than the dealer and even the Purolater One equivalents they carry
