W126 300sel Fuel Filter

1988 Mbenz 300sel and need to replace the fuel filter. Having trouble finding the Bosch fuel filter with part#71047. It seems to be on backorder. I tried calling several local familiar auto parts stores and they all say that the fuel filter is on backorder. I tried several popular websites and they also say its on backorder. Seems to me like such part# is discontinued. Anyone know of a good alternate brand?

German car companies often use Mahle, Mann, or Hengst and they always get good reviews here.

Sometimes a store will sell Beck/Arnley which is often the same part the dealer uses... at a much lower price.

I have never installed a Wix filter on a European car, however, if they are as good as the ones I use on American and Japanese cars, then Wix is an excellent choice. Often, Wix will include the brackets and fittings that may have rusted away, and that is the #1 reason I like Wix fuel filters. NAPA often sells Wix filters with their name written on it.
