Just browsing VW's website, and it specifies a 40k mile change interval of the fluid that is in their DSG Automatic transmission. For those who aren't familiar, the DSG unit is a dual-clutch manual transmission that uses computer controlled electromechanical actuators, and not the action of a gear shifter, to change gears.
Anyone have any idea just what exactly this transmission requires in terms of fluid? And is there any chance of it being available without spending a small fortune? Personally I can't imagine that its fundamentally different from being a synthetic gear oil, but VW has been to use weird obscure fluid specs in the past.
