VW and Audi oil recommendations the same?

Trav, my 2017 VW All Track (Golf) was made in Mexico. Nary a significant problem in over 9 years. It has the best fit and finish of any car I have ever owned and I am78. I would take that over a US made VW put together by the UAW. And I would gladly purchase another Mexican produced VW!

Agreed.

Despite not being assembled in Germany, my assembled-in-Mexico GLI feels plenty German to me.

The overall build quality / feel was ultimately what swayed me away from the WRX (a car I also regard highly) at the time of shopping.

2019 Q5. Sticker on the engine compartment is 508 00.

508.00 covers both VW and Audi.

Any oil the meets 508.00 is perfectly safe and effective to run in that engine.

Note both brands on the OE Genuine bottle (filled with Mobil 1 ESP X2).

My MK7 GTI was built in Mexico. I have yet to find a flaw in 9 years of owning. The general GTI community feels there is no difference between those assembled in Germany and the Mexican ones.
