The Honda VTM-4(rear diff) fluid capacity is 3 quarts, so why does Honda supply it in 1 Gallon size only ? Considering $27/gallon and 1 quart going to waste, that comes to $9/qt, a lot more expensive even than their fancy atf!! Why would they do that ??

I have one quart left over from last year, not sure if I should use it or not. Any direction on how long it is ok to store it ?

For the same reason I am going to complain to EXMOBIL, Amsoil, Shell, and other companies that my Nissan engine holds 3L but they only supply me with these dumb 4 qt and 5 qt jugs.

Use the leftover quart and quit worrying. You can also use the quart for topoff during the year, or to assist in rinsing out the old gear oil from the diff as you drain.

Cost/marketin/profit....I myself like the savings of the 4-5 quart jugs.
