Volvo Gearbox with electronic overdrive.

Guys, a workmate is chasing a synthetic for his Volvo manual 4 speed with automatic overdrive, that specs a Volvo synthetic oil that meets type F friction requirements (and runs at $35/litre).

The oil manufacturers are speccing their normal type Fs, but he wants synthetic.

Any ideas ?

BTW, what's the JD j21A spec ?
seems to be mutually exclusive to Alison C-4, which (I thought) was for wet clutches/brakes.

Volvo is using a Toyota T-IV type fluid in the newer transmissions.

Shannow, Coventry Auto Parts can get this in, if they don't have it in stock. Closest branch is Penrith.
They have reasonable stocks of Redline on the shelf, and if not and you ring early enough, will usually be able to have it there by lunchtime. IIRC, someone at Orange is also a Redline stockist. You are sort of stuck in the middle
