I have a 2004 Aveo (now, no cracks - I love this little commuter) and I notice the headlamps will dim for a micro-second whenever I turn on an accessory like the rear window heater, etc or even hit the brake pedal while idling.
I know these boxes are basically capacitors that store a charge and release it whenever the voltage dips below normal.
So, would a VS box be helpful in eliminating this irritating trait?
If not, what would you recommend, and why?

Thanks, fellow BITOGers. Sounds like good advice.

If you're going to do anything, check the main ground cable from the battery to the body. On a lot of cars, they just use the threads of a screw through the sheet metal of the body to make the connection. If that's the case, you might think about cleaning off some metal so the electricity can flow more easily.

Just to expand on Matt_S's comment: any chassis ground can be improved by placing a tooth-washer BETWEEN the lug and the sheet metal. Placing a tooth-washer under the head of the screw (on TOP of the lug) is darn near useless.
