Your experience is why I won't buy a new car if there isn't a local dealership and why I pass on the free maintenance services. I'd rather do OCs and rotations myself and know they're done correctly. Hope your VW is trouble free after you deal with this.

This. When I bought my used Ford it came with a free oil change coupon. That went right in the trash when I got home.

Anyway, it’s a huge bummer the OP went 100 miles to have such a bad experience. I suspect going to a different dealer is even more inconvenient? But I would certainly try to take it to a different one if possible.
