VOA: Quaker State HM 5w30

Just delivered the sample to the post office. I'm figuring sometime within the next 10 days or so I should have a reply. Oh, the sample I sent is also the 5w30.

Those additive level are crazy and wouldn't even meet GF-4/SM specs for ZDDP. Maybe you should conact SOPUS? Something is wrong, probably Blackstone. I wouldn't have them do an UOA if it were free.

Ya know if this comes back from dyson exactly the same as from Bstone, it means that the only decent High-mileage oil out there is Valvoline Maxlife. GTX has a lacking add pack, Pennzoil High Mileage is probably the same as Quaker State High Mileage. Only Mobil 1 High Mileage and Maxlife are left.

No, the Pennzoil High Mileage is not the same as the QS. To start with the Pennzoil High Mileage has API certification. Completely different add pack.

I know a lot of folks that just love the Quaker State High Mileage oils. Every claim I've ever heard about Maxlife, I have heard about the QS.

There's a recent used oil analysis of a high mileage Corolla using Pennzoil High Mileage. The additive pack looked really stout. Also my used oil analysis of Quaker State Conventional had a stout additive package, so it's hard to imagine Quaker State High Mileage would normally have a substandard additive pack.

Moly-247, Boron-142. Awesome. I already bought a 5 quart jug at walmart anyway. I trust SOPUS. Plus I like how their bottles have regular "made on" dates on them. I figured the first VOA was most likely a Blackstone error.

All along people have been losing sleep, switching oils, looking for problems and criticizing companies because we've been reading botched reports. Not to say they're all wrong, but who knows what comes from there anymore.

Wonder why no API doughnut? Cost or "special sauce"? Always a fan, Love the red bottle! This oil in it's 10w30 older incarnation worked wonders on worn/older engines and hot rodders and classic car owners 'round here love the stuff - couldnt pry it out of their clenched dying fingers. Was wondering if it was just the slightly higher vioscosity but that boron % is special.
