Second Jive Dude: 'S'mofo butter layin' me to da' BONE! Jackin' me up... tight me!
Randy: I'm sorry, I don't understand.
First Jive Dude: Cutty say 'e can't HANG!
Jive Lady: Oh stewardess! I speak jive.
Randy: Oh, good.
Jive Lady: He said that he's in great pain and he wants to know if you can help him.

Strangest "bout" I've ever had. Hurtin' muscles/joints ..both hot and cold at the same time (no sweating until fever broke)..no nausea ..but lower tract "distress". Totally immobilized (sorta) for the past 18 hours.

We've had the plague through our place the last month. No GI distress, but buckets of nasal gunk, eyes that won't open in the morning due to gunk, and the general struck by Ben Grimm feeling.

I can name that movie in six words ...

Seriously, though - hope you feel better soon, Gary.

I'm sorry, but I can't help but make a quip. Are you posting from the throne room, or do you have a specially equipped desk chair?

PS: Sorry for bothering you with a PM. Had I known about your fragile condition I would have waited for your recovery. Get well soon!

It sounds like the "Achy Breaky" but I can't be sure.

I'm not a doctor, but I play one on boards.

Thanks, gentlemen!

It came on rather sudden. I was lifeguarding and could feel it. I was rubber necking that clock as 4 o'clock came around.

The grandkids got it. The son and his SO got it. Then I got it. It passes quickly enough (about 24 hours) ..but..rather high impact. The most odd symptom was feeling like I had done a teenage exercise program. Rolling over in bed was punctuated with moans and groans. The pain wasn't acute..but nasty enough anyway. I knew I was mostly recovered when I could blow gas without having to hobble to the bathroom.

Let's put it this way. I looked so bad, my wife actually expressed sympathy. I told her she was blowing her cover.

Now I just feel like a well used dishrag. Another day to get the sleep cycle back in sync, I guess.

my creeping pneumonia of a few weeks past was accompanied by nausea and diarhea. I so wished I could just vomit and get it over with, but never did. I dont know if this was a symptom of the pneumonia or something else. The fever was bearable, the nausea made me want to die.

Like in case of the recent outbreak, salmonella is frequently the bacterium causing foodborne illnesses. Often people claim it's e-coli, just because it's easier to lay the blame on a particular group of people involved in farming. I'm not saying you are doing this, but the recent tomato scare was due to salmonella contamination, most likely due to manure runoff.

What are the symptoms of illness caused by noroviruses?
The symptoms of norovirus illness usually include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and some stomach cramping. Sometimes people additionally have a low-grade fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, and a general sense of tiredness. The illness often begins suddenly, and the infected person may feel very sick. In most people the illness is self-limiting with symptoms lasting for about 1 or 2 days. In general, children experience more vomiting than adults.

..and ..my two grandchildren had it about 7 days ago, then my son had it a few days ago ..now I have it ...and am mostly over it ..at least the severe part. Tired mainly.

Just be thankful it wasnt giardia. It displays the same symptons, but being a parasite, it doesnt go away, you have to evict it. It isnt common back east, so I suffered with it a few weeks living on ginger ale and crackers, until a stool sample tracked it down. I lost 25 lbs on that diet
