Vintage Chevy truck commercial

Get the 187 ton load in post #1 up to 10mph on a level road...then hit the brakes...just to see.

I LOVED the "truck commercial director" pitching the idea of sawing Chevy or Ford trucks in half and reassembling them atop a mountain to create a real "macho picture".

The reps from Chevy and Ford ask, "How do you get the halves up there?"

"By Jeep", said the director

Dramatic sales ad that you could never replicate if you want warranty. It would have been more enlightening had they repeated the log pull until something major broke. Still fun to watch though.

I have a habit of watching the older commercials from my youth (early 70's-late 80's) on a regular basis. Reminds me how good life was then. I especially love the car & truck ads. They actually described how it was to drive it, gave the numbers that mattered (HP, Torque, MPG), and made you feel good for about owning one. I also think the cars looked much better then. Now, it's all about Wi-Fi, neighbor envy status and how much bigger their touchscreens are. Ho hum.
