I am wondering if I should pay for a VIN report. Carfax says there are 2 records on the VIN for a vehicle I may buy, but Autocheck says there are 10 records. Anyone familiar with these type of services know the best site for a good check at reasonable cost?

Whichever one finds more matches for your particular car.

Exactly. Even if it is just yearly emission testing, you will be able to see how many miles were put on yearly, etc.

Always try google, you never know where your VIN has been.

States like Texas have flood car databases that are free public information.

Nothing came up on Google. I bought the Autocheck report and everything looks good. It's a motorhome. Unit was titled in 2000 in SC and in '04 was moved to Michigan. Write up person at the RV dealer told me the couple bought it new, then divorced in 04. Then the daughter took it home to Michigan and parked it, using it occasionally and finally sold it. It has only '9700 miles.

Thanks.
