My 02 saturn started doing this. I put 4 new goodyear tires on it and now at 55 mph it'll shake. It's very speed sensitive by time it hits 58 it's smooth. It seems to do it only when a light load is applied . So basically cruising at 55. Up a hill it won't do it sometimes down a mild hill it will. To me sounds like a cv shaft but how can I accurately tell which one? Thanks everyone.

So, is this a continuation of the same issue that you experienced with the Sumitomo tires earlier in the month... or does this feel different?

Completely different the tires only caused vibration when on the front and at higher speeds this gets smooth about 58mph and below 53

Sure did even checked them twice the most the one wheel took was 1.25 ounces the others were between .25-.75 they balanced very easy

Replaced both both felt worn it helped a lot but I feel like these integritys give a lot of road feel back almost too much

Possibly control arm bushings? use a pry bar on your control arm bushings and make sure they move less than 1/4 inch.

Bushing failure is more common on FWD cars than RWD ones. Since you have a Saturn S-Series, you have to replace the entire control arm, but it might not be too expensive.

Engine mounts can be a problem when accelerating and decelerating causes bad things to happen. Have someone push the brake and gas pedal at the same time, and if the engine moves more than 1/2 and inch, you need engine mounts.

Have you rotated the tires to see if one has an issue?

Jack up each corner of the car and do the tie rod/ball joint test to see if it passes

Mounts are all good have replaced them and control arms and did verify they are still in very good shape

Well rotate the tires and the shake changes when in the rear it's hard to detect. Wonder if I should replace tires or live with it. ....
