How does it matter where the oil formulations are being developed?
Maybe since BP bought them they don't have them anymore, but on the old Castrol US web site (pre BP) they listed at least two blending facilities in the US. I can't remember where they were, though.quote:

Sorry G-MAN Castrol does not have ANY blending facilities in the USA. They do have a 800# for tech info. thats in WAYNE N.J. but thats it.
If it's too cold for the 10w30 why not use 5w30? Castrol High Mileage comes in both grades.quote:

I am very encouraged. I am trying to reduce the 1qt/2k miles consumption in my otherwise very clean and leak-free 99 Civic motor with 132k miles. I have a 5qt jug of 10w30 sitting in the garage right now. Not sure I want to put it in just yet, getting too cold for this thick 30w. Maybe next spring.
Unfortunately, Stink Peterson was killed in a tragic accident a few months ago.quote:

The more I read on those HDEOs the better I like them. Looks like all those truckers were right after all.....quote:

Wow, all these leakers. I guess I'm very fortunate. For the first time in my live, I have a car that doesn't leak a single drop. I have an 88 IROC Camaro with the 5.0L V8, and 160k on the clock. It burns a little between changes, but no leaks at all. The oil I use? Mobil 1 Truck and SUV!
A late Gen I small block Chevy that doesn't leak oil. That's amazing.quote:

ARX/LC20 are about the best products you can use to help free up those ring packs and reduce consumption.... after things have been cleaning for awhile, take it out and drive the living crap out of it... get the RPMs up to the red and then let-off, leaving it in that gear, to engine-brake back down the the rpms a few times... call it a re-break-in.quote:
Can more people tell us their experience reducing oil consumption (not leaks)?
