Got a 375 horse versatile four wheel drive tractor with synchromesh transmission. Says in manual hydraulic and transmission fluid to use Esso hydraul 56, shell donax td, Texaco tdh, amoco 2016, or Exxon Mobil 424. Most of those I’ve never heard of and the ones I have I don’t see often in my area. Question is can I substitute those with something else? I have used in other equipment and or have access to the Cam2 AG-20 from rural king, Case IH hy-tran, and the John Deere hy-gard. Would any of those work and can any of those be added to and mixed with whatever happens to currently be in the tractor from previous owners?

hydraul 56 is a 9.3 kv100 oil which is high for most readily available hydraulic fluids. AW 68 is usually around 8.6-9.1 Using something a bit thinner like most hydraulic fluids tend to just slightly decrease performance as hydros like a minimum viscosity.

Sunco TH shows as a compatible hydraulic fluid and has a kv100 of 9.4 which looks right. The shipping for one 5 gal of the sunco th to Texas is the same as the oil itself but it's 50 bucks. I'd try using a universal aw 68 hydraulic fluid and I know advance auto tends to have aw 68 in stock.

I think motor oil could work fine too. Many synchro manuals used to spec motor oil before and 9.3 is the min for 30 grade. I'd use a basic 5/10w-30. The visc is usually 10 on them.
