The old one ('57?) was in much better shape than the "retro" one (c. 2000).
The 57 has more classHmmm....which one do I want?
The 57 is also easier to get parts for.The 57 has more class
The old one is worth more tho .The newer one is more likely to start every morning.
The newer one was a a bunch if " off the shelf" parts from other Ford models and it showed. The newer one is more likely to start every morning.
How to feel old:A boomer and an offspring of the gen X T-Bird. Maybe a classic and a classic fail.

I'd heard the new one had an exotic and rather fragile OHC engine. The newer one was basically junk. Many issues..
Agreed! I was appalled at the time at what the T-Bird had become. The ‘57 looks great. I’ll take either of them over the mid to late 70s version:

They were based on the Lincoln LS platform which used the Jaguar S-Type platform. They used the 3.9L Jaguar AJ V8 which is a decent engine, but had lots of issues. They are now to the point that a bunch of the engine parts are obsolete from FordI'd heard the new one had an exotic and rather fragile OHC engine.
