Varish on household items

I get varnish on my air fryer/toaster oven rack. I tackle it by using good ole elbow grease. A scrubby and dish detergent helps too.

I typically use Easy Off, Simple Green, or lye boiled to high temperature right before boiling. I'm sure if I don't need to worry about heavy metal or carcinogen I would use engine degreaser.

Brillo pad over the sink and elbow grease. It’s tedious work but with good results.
